Today’s speaker, Vicki Mustafa, on Women In The Middle East, was very knowledgeable and engaging a la the number of hands that shot up at question time. Vicki was there well after 2pm fielding questions off line from our interested member.
Rotary is very conscious of protocol and safety, on that note as Rotarians we are obligated to not only have a Working With Children’s Check, but another 3 reference checks. This is to ensure we are going above and beyond the accepted safety checks on this important matter.
We will be joining Hawthorn Rotary at lunch on Tuesday 8th Oct for their Fun Hat Day Fundraiser for Lift The Lid on mental health awareness, so no meeting on Thursday 10th Oct.
Lloyd Knight was presented with another Paul Harris recognition Award for donations to Rotary Foundation this time is was with 5 Sapphires. Well done Lloyd!
It was with great excitement that the board approved the go-ahead for a new Kew Rotary Website. Mark Hassed a long-time friend of mine and also a long time member of Camberwell Rotary is working closely with Graeme Sheahan to ensure a smooth transition and already there is a trial site (in wordpress).
We are very much looking forward to contributions from all members including articles with accompanying photos. Mark will also make certain articles automatically feed through to our FB account (that’s FaceBook).
